Please vote on the poll.

This tournament will Double Elimination and detailed rules will be announced in the coming weeks.

Please note that if you vote for 8 vs 8 there will NOT be any stage matches due to size.

Please do not vote if you are NOT going to be playing in this tournament.

You can only play in 1 tournament at xLAN as per normal.

The poll will close this Friday midnight.

errr please remove 3 v 3

Standard TF2 community comps are either 8 v 8 or 6 v 6

8v8 is the current competition size in NZ and Aussie ... 6v6 comps are run in America alongside 8v8 comps

8v8 = win

If 8 vs 8 wins on the poll there are NO stage matches. We would really like this tournament to be played on the stage semis and finals as its quite a big comp and spectators and other gamers would enjoy this.

Please keep that in mind.

hard to say really.
6 vs 6 is definatley the lowest possible number.
Its probably better for a lan format because of the number of teams that can compete. 8 vs 8 is what we are used to however. and the game itself is designed for 12 vs 12

Voting 8 vs 8

i'm more concerned about playing the game i enjoy, the way it is meant to be played than watching people play it the way it isn't meant to be played on a stage ...

You did say this was a poll for the people who WANT to play this game at XLAN ... not for people who want to watch Smile

We don't have enough room or PC's for 8 vs 8 on the stages, so your final will not be on the stage so everyone can watch.

The tournament is Double Elim from the start.

voted 8 v 8 , as someone else said every tourney / ladder that has run has been 8 v 8 . would be good to have a couple of 6 v 6 exhibition matches on the big screen though

Dee, what wug said! You could run the tourney as normal, then take the top 4 teams or w/e and do two exhibition 6v6 matches.

BTW wug thought esm wasn't gonna show at xlan?

We have a tight schdule for the stage this year so I don't think its going to be possible.

I can understand that you guys play 8 vs 8 so thats ok, I just wanted to let you know there will be no stage matches for this.

I was not aware that that this competition had to conform to "community" standards. I am sure that Mr. "Community" has a vested interest in keeping this as predictable as possible.

And I am fairly sure the greater community at large is disinterested in whatever your drepraved exhibitionists will come up with.

We would normally only have 10 pc's on the stage and if the community wanted 6 v 6 tournament we could put 2 more pcs on the stage, and we can not do this for one exhibition match, and we can't have an exhibiton match on Sunday as that is purely finals day.

Its totally up to the community what format, this is why we are asking you guys. I just thought I would point out why you can't have stage matches if you go 8 v 8, jsut wanted to let you know why we wouldnt have stage matches for your tournament.
